89 Aligned or Just Attracted?

We’ve all been there—flushed cheeks, racing heart, and thoughts swirling around someone new. You feel drawn, maybe even a little undone. But here’s the question: is it real love, or is it just attraction?

Attraction is powerful—it lights up our nervous system, inspires us to dance differently, eat differently, and daydream through the day. But is it aligned? That’s where the body speaks volumes. Especially the solar plexus, your intuitive command center.

“Attraction Begins with Chemistry
—but Alignment Begins with Truth”
- - Laura Alden Kamm - -

Our bodies know things before our minds do. That fluttery feeling in your stomach might be the thrill of connection… or the warning signal of misalignment. As empaths and intuitive souls, we often fall for the potential we see in someone. We sense their goodness, their buried kindness, their soul’s depth. But if their behavior doesn’t match that depth? Your body will tell you.

Here’s the gentle truth: if someone’s presence causes your nervous system to contract, your belly to twist, or your root to shrink, it’s not alignment—it’s a lesson. And that’s just as sacred.

Society pushes us to fall in love quickly, to check off the boxes—attractive, successful, and says all the right things. But deep love doesn’t live on checklists. It lives in resonance. Alignment allows you to be more of yourself, not less.

No matter how long a connection lasts, your inner wisdom will always point to whether it’s meant to nourish your soul or simply pass through as a sacred spark on the path.

Practice: Trust the Belly First

  • Solar Plexus Check-In:
Sit quietly and recall a person you're drawn to. Place your hand over your solar plexus (just above your navel). Breathe. Ask, “Does this feel right in my body?”
Let your body answer—not your hope, not your fear.
  • Journal Prompt:
“In what ways have I shaped myself to be loved, instead of being fully myself?”
Then ask: “What would alignment feel like in love?”
  • Let Love Be a Mirror, Not a Movie
Movies make it seem like love unfolds in 90 minutes, with a soundtrack and a bow at the end. Real love is not a performance—it’s a resonance. When someone is truly aligned with you, your soul knows. Your belly knows. The solar plexus never lies.

So next time your heart flutters, let it—but pause and ask your belly, too. Because the deepest love begins not in the eyes, but in the gut.

Trust yourself. Your alignment is your miracle in motion.

With love,
Laura
