Understanding Your Body’s Point of View

Uncategorized May 06, 2018

Today I want to offer you three tips to help you through the Holiday season. The tips below and the podcast above will help you keep in touch with your body and what you need to create a more relaxed and enjoyable time … and life.

One: Take time to do short relaxing transitions. It’s important to take longer breaks and relax during more chaotic times. However, when you don’t have a lot of time, it’s important to learn how to create short transition times. Transition time is when you’re moving from one situation to another. So when you jump in the car, come home from work, or get ready to head out to a party, take some time to gather yourself in.

My favorite thing to do is sit in the car for a few minutes. No radio. No cell phone. Just me and my thoughts. Breathe. Give yourself a moment to collect yourself before you jump into the next activity. This is very useful during the Holidays. It’s a great habit to cultivate and to keep all year long.

Two: Saying “no” could be the greatest gift to yourself. This is a time of year when we’re bombarded with requests, appointments, events, let alone our personal and family’s preparations for the Holidays. Say, “no” when you mean it. You’ll thank yourself later. It will make saying “yes” a lot more fun.

Three: Take your time to make important decisions. This is a great skill to have your entire life. However, it really comes in handy when life gets more chaotic. Challenges are bound to arise when life goes in the hyper-speed. When you take time, go inside, trust what you know to be true, and make choices from there your problems will be solved more easily and, perhaps, turn into opportunities. Don’t let anything or anyone push you into making a decision that you don’t want. (Reread Tip Two again.) When you listen to yourself, you retain your valuable time, energy, and even money.

Enjoy the podcast. It will take you into your body’s inner landscape and help you understand your body’s point of view. It will provide deep relaxation so that you can tune-in, chill out, and discover what’s needed and next for you.
